hmbl Skin is a Canadian skincare brand founded by dermatologist Dr. Danny Guo. This policy explains what personal information we collect on hmblskin.com, how we use it and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
buying hmbl products
hmbl products are sold through Dermshop (dermshop.ca). When you check out, your order is placed on Dermshop, which handles payment, shipping and order emails. The information you give at checkout is collected and protected by Dermshop under the Dermshop privacy policy.
The cart on hmblskin.com is saved only in your own browser until you check out. We do not receive it.
what we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us or use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, any phone number you include and your message. If you sign up for our newsletter, we receive your email address.
- Technical information. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type and the pages you request, so it can deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
how we use it
- To answer your questions and requests.
- To send our newsletter, if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the website running, secure and free of abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
who we share it with
- Service providers that help us run the website and send email, only as needed for their service and on the condition that they protect it.
- Dermshop, when your question is about an order.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country.
how long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, then delete it. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent and have it deleted, subject to legal requirements. Email info@dermshop.ca and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
